The Archaeology of Constructed Ruins 2014Mixed mediaDimensions variable
Over the course of the exhibition of this work I changed, replaced and moved objects to create new arrangements. In this work you see wooden forms covered in paper printed with the image of a green stone and placed against a paper printed with the same image. The objects camouflage against the paper. This was a response to a rigorous, traditional and creatively restrictive undergraduate education in sculpture which involved several years of stone carving.

This work was a part of the exhibition Before curated by Niels van Tomme at The Kitchen, NYC in 2014

In this close-up of this work you see a mise en abyme of a table on a table. A miniature one legged dinning table is placed on the table the objects are placed on. Food, plates, bowls, coasters, cocktail making tools and techniques, methods of alcohol production are central to my work.
