'...of involution, of languor...' in March 2024 at 1 Shanthiroad, Bengalūru was the sister site of the

State of Fashion Biennale 2024. Works from this exhibition culminate in the larger Biennale in Arnhem, Netherlands in May 2024 curated by Rachel Dedman and Lou Bennetts. The exhibition included works by Rujuta Rao, Indu Antony and Swati Kalsi and was curated by Kallol Datta.

Rao's Tinctura series included in this exhibition were commissioned by State of Fashion, Netherlands. Tinctura consists of five glass jars filled with ethyl alcohol, within which Rao macerates altered garments belonging to members of her family. She does so to create tinctures. The alcohol simultaneously extracts, preserves, and corrodes different qualities of these objects.

The accompanying text to this work, 'What does one do to the body?' was written by Chandrima Bhattacharya and the accompanying sound piece was designed by Sambit Chatterjee with Rusha Bose as it's creative producer.
